Debate status explained
Open debate status
On each debate you can see exactly how many comments that topic has attracted. We believe this will help give some transparency as to the volume of traffic each debate receives.

Closed debate status
Total comments

This is the total amount of comments that have been sent in to a debate so far. This includes all published comments, all comments rejected by a moderator because they have broken a house rule and those waiting in the queue to be moderated.

Published comments

This is the total number of comments that have been read and approved by a moderator, or if a debate is reactively moderated, the total number of comments that have automatically been published into a debate.

Rejected comments

This is the total amount of comments that have been rejected by one of our moderators. Comments will be rejected if they break a house rule or if they are an exact duplicate. Users own comments that they have asked to be removed will also be included in this total.

Moderation queue

This is the total number of comments that are waiting to be processed by a moderator. We aim to publish as much as possible but due to the volume of comments we receive this is not always possible. Once a debate is closed the moderation queue is cleared and no more comments will be published to the debate.

If you are a registered user you can check the status of your comments by signing in and clicking on the "View my comments" button.
