How to get Live 8 on your Mobile

If you have a Wap-compatible mobile phone, follow these simple instructions to be automatically sent a link to the BBC's Live8 Wap site.

This service is provided for UK mobile phone users only.

Step 1

Text the word LIVE8 to 81010

The BBC will send you a text message (service text message) within five minutes.

In most cases, the message will arrive in your normal text message inbox.

However, some phones have a Wap Push inbox where the service message will be stored. This can often be found under the Services menu item.

Step 2

When the message arrives, you should open it and select the link.

The link address should look like a normal internet address.

It will prompt you to make a connection to the internet.

You should select Yes. There is no charge from the BBC but you will be charged at your normal network rate for Wap access.

Step 3

You're in! BBC News on Wap is updated every minute of every day in the same way as the website.

Don't forget to save a bookmark to the site on your phone.
