Healthcheck: Smallpox

Smallpox is the only disease that humankind has successfully wiped out.

Professor Gareth Williams from the University of Bristol spoke to Claudia Hammond about the illness and about the moment in 1796 when a risky experiment gave us the first vaccine against it.
