Call to regulate therapy counsellors

It is estimated that GPs spend a third of their time on mental health problems. If the patient requires it, they may refer them for therapy.

However, there is growing concern that anyone can set themselves up as a counsellor or psychotherapist. The mental health charity, Mind, is calling for legally binding and independent regulation.
