Three-way transplant brings hope

A change in the law has brought new hope for thousands of people who are in desperate need of a kidney transplant.

Until now, kidney patients have had either to wait for an organ from someone who has died, or to look for a tissue match among friends and relatives.

But now, in the first of its kind in the UK, three couples who have never met have transformed each other's lives, by agreeing a three-way donation.

Graham Satchell reports.
