Thalidomide victims' joy at apology

Thalidomide campaigners have described an apology by the government over the drug scandal as "momentous".

In a statement to MPs, health minister Mike O'Brien said the government expressed its "sincere regret" and "deep sympathy" to the victims.

Among those welcoming the news was Guy Tweedy, of the Thalidomide Trust and Sue Kent.
