BMA attacks NHS IT system cuts

Government plans to scale back its £12bn NHS IT system are "short sighted", the British Medical Association's IT spokesperson has said.

Speaking to the BBC, Dr Grant Ingrams defended the system, saying that it will "reduce errors and improve patient safety".

The Conservative and Liberal Democrats have been calling for the IT system, which has been hit by costly delays, to be axed.
