Tips for a safe sleeping baby

Half of cot deaths are down to bed-sharing, yet many parents remain sceptical about the risk, work by the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (FSID) reveals.

Findings published online in the British Medical Journal show co-sleeping is a factor in more than 50% of cases.

Judith Howard from FSID gives her top tips for a safe sleeping baby and ways to reduce the risk of cot death.

Cot death rates in the UK has fallen dramatically since the "Back to Sleep" campaign in the early 1990s.
