Childbirth pain 'is rite of passage'

A leading doctor has argued that pain while giving birth is a "rite of passage" which can often help regulate childbirth.

Dr Denis Walsh is the associate professor of midwifery at the University of Nottingham, and some of his colleagues have been defending his stance.

Quentin Rayner reports.
