Inflatable 'operating theatre'

An inflatable operating theatre, developed by Imperial College London, provides a simulation training environment, at a fraction of the cost of the real thing.

The prototype has been created by surgeons, design engineers, psychologists and educators.

Dr Roger Kneebone, an expert in surgical education, shows us around.

The technology is on display at the NHS Innovation Expo at the Excel Centre, London, on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th June.

The need to accelerate the adoption and diffusion of innovation across the NHS was identified in Lord Dazi's Next Stage Review in June 2008.
