Ann Alexander: Could Shipman Happen Again?

Ten years after Dr Harold Shipman was charged with the murder of 15 of his patients, the senior judge who chaired the Inquiry tells the BBC of her concerns about the slow progress of reform.

Dame Janet Smith made her comments to Ann Alexander, a former solicitor who represented the families of a number of Harold Shipman's victims and who presents the BBC Radio 4 documentary Could Shipman Happen Again?

Ann Alexander discussed her interview with Dame Janet Smith on the BBC News Channel on Thursday 12 February at 0930 GMT.

Could Shipman Happen Again? will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on Thursday 12 February at 2000 GMT, or you can listen again via the BBC iPlayer.
