Cutting edge medicine examined

Patients, doctors and scientists at the cutting edge of medicine are the subject of a new programme.

The first programme on robotic surgery looks at how an MRI-compatible robot operates on a human brain and the "da Vinci robot" does keyhole surgery.

Medical academic Lord Winston spoke about whether robots are really necessary for surgery.
