Welsh Labour Party
The Labour Party in Wales has been the vehicle for the social aspirations of many Welsh people in the 20th century, and now promises thorough modernisation of the education and health systems.
Plaid Cymru
Plaid Cymru is toning down its traditional image as a party built around the single issue of Welsh self-government and portraying itself as "the party of Wales".
The Welsh Conservative Party
The Conservative and Unionist Party in Wales has recently adopted this new title - a sign that the party is trying to come to terms with devolution, a policy it opposed during the devolution referendum.
Welsh Liberal Democrats
Lib Dems see themselves as the true devolutionists in Wales and are translating their party's core values of liberty, equality and community to "allow the people of Wales to shape their own destiny".
