The state of the parties
This is the state of the main parties, with all the results declared:
Labour, 94 councils (gained Brent, Hastings, Waltham Forest, Lambeth, and Harrow, but lost Cambridge and Hillingdon), net change in council seats -79. Liberal Democrats, 14 councils (gained Liverpool, but lost Kingston upon Thames, Woking, the Isle of Wight, West Lindsey, Craven, Colchester, Rochford and Hastings), net change in council seats -123 Conservative, 8 councils (won Tunbridge Wells and Runnymede, lost Bromley), net change in council seats + 258 50 councils are under no overall control. |
