Jersey pier jump teenager broke his back

A 15-year-old boy who was injured when he jumped from a pier in Jersey, and landed on a boat, has broken his back.

Paramedics were called to Bouley Bay on Friday afternoon to aid the teenager who had jumped 12ft (3.7m).

A boat was moored below the pier, on which the teenager landed, suffering spinal and head injuries.

A Jersey police spokeswoman said the boy is in a stable condition at Southampton Hospital where he is being treated for a broken back.
