The incident is being investigated by the Health and Safety Inspectorate

Scaffolding put up for renovations at a Jersey hotel has collapsed.

The scaffolding, around the L'Horizon Hotel, in St Brelade, tumbled to the ground at lunchtime, police said.

The fire service and police were called to the scene to make sure it was safe at about 1345 BST, and said no-one was hurt in the collapse.

Jersey Health and Safety Inspectorate said it was investigating the incident, but the hotel manager has denied the scaffolding collapsed.

Martin Kelly told BBC Jersey that a moveable scaffolding platform had been taken down at the site, and no scaffolding had fallen to the ground.
