Jersey charity appeals for volunteer festival stewards

Jersey Liberation re-enactment
Jersey was liberated from Nazi control on 9 May, 1945

People in Jersey will be able to watch parts of the Liberation Festival free of charge by volunteering as stewards.

The Liberation International Music Festival is being held over the Liberation weekend in May.

It will include a number of concerts at some of the island's main heritage sites and will feature local and international artists.

The Music in Action charity is advertising for volunteers to help it steward the annual event.

The Channel Islands were the only part of the British Isles to be occupied by German forces during World War II and events are held every year to commemorate and celebrate the islands' liberation by allied troops.

Jersey was liberated on 9 May, 1945.
