The community-based machines have already been used successfully
Jersey is one of the most heart attack aware places in Great Britain and the Channel Islands, a first aid charity has said.
Nearly 20 extra defibrillators were deployed in sports centres, pubs, the airport and other public places this year, bringing the total to 85.
Nigel Truscott, from St John Ambulance, said he was delighted so many people understood their importance.
He said using them within minutes of heart failure was very important.
"In the USA their government-led scheme sees the common placement of machines in most locations used by the general public.
"Although Jersey is not as well placed as some US cities it is in the top ranks of UK geographical locations for accessibility," Mr Truscott said.
The heart-starting machines have already been used successfully, he added.
