Jersey Post offers mobile service

Jersey Post has revealed it is to enter the mobile phone market.

The utility company is planning to run a pay-as-you-go service from next month.

The announcement comes just days after States-owned Jersey Telecom (JT) revealed it was cutting 115 jobs in a bid to save £7m in the coming year.

Gary Whipp, Jersey Post International Development managing director, said the firm expects to create about 20 new jobs through the mobile phone venture.
