Island swine flu cases pass 200

The number of confirmed cases of swine flu in Jersey has passed the 200 mark.

Official figures show there were 22 new cases in the island in the week leading up to 1 November, taking the overall total to 210.

Parents are being sent letters and consent forms ahead of a new school swine flu vaccination programme.

The vaccine will be offered at the largest schools and nurseries in Jersey from next week and about 16,000 children could get the jab.
