Working as a broadcast journalist for both radio and TV in the Belfast newsroom, he returned 'home' in 2004 when he became BBC Newsline's reporter in the southern part of Northern Ireland.

Based in the BBC's studio at the Planetarium in Armagh, he keeps an eye on what's happening in Armagh, South Tyrone and, occasionally, Monaghan and Cavan.
