Offender register nearly complete

Plans for a sex offenders register in Jersey are in the their final stages, the Home Affairs minister says.

The register will list already known paedophiles, but it will not publicly name offenders or let members of the public find out where they live.

Only organisations including the police, children's services and, in some cases, schools will be able to access the information.

The law has gone through more than 30 drafts, Minister Ian Le Marquand said.
