Two parishes in UK flowers event

Jersey parishes St Saviour and St Brelade will represent the island in the finals of the Britain in Bloom competition in 2010.

They won the chance to pitch their blooms against the best after sharing prizes in the Parish in Bloom event.

St Saviour was named the overall winner with a high points total and a Gold Award after judges said there was a "very high standard of horticulture".

St Brelade won the Best Coastal Parish with a Silver Gilt Award.
