Cash injection keeps sites open

Emergency funding is being given to Jersey's Heritage Trust.

The States has given the organisation £200,000 to help manage sites like Elizabeth Castle, Mont Orgueil and Hamptonne farm.

The cash-strapped trust, which promotes the island's history, was concerned that without extra money it would have to close some of its sites.

This year the trust highlighted 10 Jersey buildings at risk and called for more States funding.
