Schoolboy hit by car at crossing

The 12-year-old knocked down by a car as he walked home from school has been flown to Southampton Hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition.

He was injured at a pedestrian crossing on St Saviour's Hill near Highlands Lane in Jersey on Tuesday afternoon.

St Saviour's Hill was closed by police investigating the incident until just before midnight.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
