Tourism chiefs say Europeans will get more for their money

Tourism chiefs in Jersey are hoping the island will benefit from the current low level of the pound against the euro.

Mike Tait, PR manager for Jersey Tourism, said Europeans may choose to holiday in the island because their money will now go further.

And UK residents could travel to the island, rather than the more expensive euro-zone, in greater numbers.

Jersey is "very well positioned" for Europe and the UK, he added.

Mr Tait said UK residents already make up 80% of Jersey's tourists.
