Mobile phone transfer deal starts

Mobile phone customers in the Channel Islands will be able to switch operator and keep their number from Monday.

Mobile number portability, as it is known, has taken several years to organise before getting the go-ahead.

The move is designed to give mobile phone users choice and boost competition in the market.

The switch will be free for customers, and it is open to anyone as long as phone users are switching to another mobile phone operator in the islands.
