Flicker of hope over gas prices

Customers in Jersey use Liquefied Petroleum Gas

Consumers' fuel costs could be less than expected this winter, after Jersey Gas announced it would reduce prices if the cost of crude oil stabilises.

The company put up its prices in July after crude oil, a key component in the gas production process, soared to more than $140 a barrel.

However, the average cost of crude oil is now under $70 a barrel.

Jersey Gas said it would wait until December before making a decision, in case crude oil prices rise again.
