People in Jersey have been celebrating the island's native wildlife.

The Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust held the Go Native event for people of all ages to raise awareness of the creatures living in the island.

It included guided walks and talks by local experts, outdoor games, activities and competition.

Visitors were given advice on Jersey's flora and fauna, as well as demonstrations and opportunities to get involved with environmental tasks.

Staff from Jersey Trees for Life also attended the event to offer information on what islanders should plant to attract wildlife to gardens.

Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust was founded by naturalist and author Gerald Durrell, who died in 1995.

It aims to prevent the decline and extinction of endangered animals and is currently taking part in captive breeding programmes involving more than 30 different species.
