Call to drop volunteer trustees

Bodies such as Jersey Heritage Trust may have to pay their managers in future, according to Jersey's Appointments Commission.

Many trustees of these organisations are volunteers, but the commission says in a report that they may have to be paid to attract applicants in future.

There are about 50 such Jersey organisations which are linked to the government, but not part of it.

The commission oversees the way the top public service roles are appointed.
