Charity relay needs bigger venue

A larger venue has been chosen for Jersey's Relay for Life because of the large number of people expected to take part in the charity event this summer.

Organisers have decided to move to the Royal Jersey Showground in Trinity for the 24-hour run on 9 and 10 August.

The event is just one of hundreds taking place in 19 countries around the world in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Twenty teams took part in the first race in 1999, but organisers said they anticipated about 50 teams this year.

The event was previously held at FB Fields.
