Blood donation age may fall to 17
Young people in Jersey may soon be able to give blood from the age of 17.

The move to lower the age from 18 has now been approved by the Solicitor General and is in line with similar moves in England.

The Chief Officer of the Health department says it recognises a growing trend to encourage young people to contribute more to society.

The Health Department is expected to make an announcement on the subject next week.
