New governor to take over La Moye
Jersey's La Moye prison has appointed a new governor who takes over on 3 March.

William Millar comes to the island after 30 years working for the Scottish Prison Service, where he is currently a senior operational advisor.

He will replace Steven Guy Gibbens who left saying that his job was being made difficult by excessive red tape.

Mr Millar, who was governor of Perth Prison and Polmont Young Offenders, said he was looking forward to the challenge of governing La Moye.
