Jersey Police have confirmed they have set up a special team to investigate allegations of sexual abuse of children dating back to the 1960s.
The investigation is currently focusing on Haute de la Garenne Care home and the Jersey Sea Cadets.
Both the States of Jersey and the management of the Sea Cadets are co-operating fully with the inquiry.
The allegations of physical and sexual abuse span a 40-year period dating from the 1960s.
