Plan to twin parish with capital
Parishioners in a Jersey parish will decide on Wednesday night whether to twin with the capital of Madeira.

There are plans to officially link St Helier with Funchal.

Over the past three years St Helier has held cultural exchanges with the island including football matches, food festivals and singing events.

If St Helier Parish Assembly agree to the link then the mayor of Funchal will put the proposal for the twinning to his council before the end of the year.
