Kayakers 'on the run from police'
A police investigation is under way in Jersey after it has emerged one of two missing holiday makers may be on the run from police in the UK.

A full scale search was launched when two people from Lancashire were reported missing from their campsite in Rozel Bay on 10 August.

It is thought they had tried to get to France in an inflatable canoe.

The missing couple used the names Andrew Keeble and Hannah Tye, but police believe these may be aliases.

Possible leads

At the weekend, Jersey police confirmed they were following up a lead that the holiday makers could be a convicted paedophile and his girlfriend.

A newspaper in Lancashire claimed it had spoken to the man's father and that his real name is Gerard Hayslop.

Burnley Crown Court has confirmed that a man called Gerard Hayslop admitted 20 counts of making an indecent image of a child on 23 April.

He was bailed for sentencing pending reports.

He failed to turn up at court on 3 August and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police investigations continue.
