Thousands sign up to stop new tax
Fifteen thousand signatures have been collected in a petition against the new goods and services tax (GST) in Jersey.

The Consumer Council says it could be the biggest petition ever presented to the States.

It is asking for the 3% charge to be delayed until all alternatives have been investigated.

The States says the current tax system needs updating to attract business to Jersey and reduce the island's dependence on income tax.
