New man to develop island economy
There is a new man in charge of developing Jersey's economy.

Andrew Sugden has been appointed Economic Development's new Director of Enterprise and Business Development.

Mr Sugden starts on 8 May. He has worked in international business development for almost 25 years, in the public and private sectors.

His previous roles include head of international investment and trade development at East Midlands Development Agency.

'Significant challenges'

He was also the director of business enterprise with Marketing Manchester.

Mr Sugden will be responsible for ensuring economic growth in all sectors of Jersey's industry.

"There remain significant challenges ahead," said Mr Sugden.

"However the States Enterprise and Business Development Strategy provides a strong strategic framework against which to develop future economic success."
