Lottery boost for community bank
A purse
The money has come from the Association of Jersey Charities
A community bank in Jersey can expand its efforts to help people save money thanks to a grant from the lottery.

The Community Savings and Credit Bank, which is similar to a credit union, has been given £14,000 to pay for a part-time supervisor.

Set up to help people on low incomes manage their finances, it is run by trustees for the Community Charitable Trust.

The money will pay for the supervisor and a forthcoming office move.

The money has come from the Association of Jersey Charities which hands out money from the Channel Islands lottery.
