Island considers own smoking ban
Alderney is considering introducing a ban on smoking in public places.

The States of Alderney will debate legislation to make smoking in enclosed public places illegal later this month.

Richard Willmott of the Policy and Finance Committee said it was important to protect the health of workers who may be affected by passive smoking.

A comprehensive debate would also be held on whether to bring in a ban. Guernsey, Herm and Jersey have already banned smoking in enclosed places.
