New boss for waterfront project
Jersey's Waterfront
A 55m redevelopment is planned for the waterfront
The man behind a redevelopment in Edinburgh is to take charge of Jersey's waterfront project.

Stephen Izatt has been appointed as head of the Jersey Waterfront Enterprise Board (WEB).

The board was set up by Jersey's States in 1995 to manage the development of the St Helier waterfront.

He is expected to begin work in Jersey in early May, and succeeds David Margason who resigned last May to take up a new job.

Mr Izatt was chief executive overseeing Edinburgh's waterfront regeneration in 2003.

He said he was excited about the project in Jersey and was looking forward to creating a world-class waterfront suitable for the 21st Century.

WEB chairman Gerald Voisin said the board was delighted and had great confidence in the successful development of the area.

A 55m development of homes and business properties is planned for the area.
