Island gun amnesty is considered
Pistol
Islanders legally own more than 11,000 firearms
A firearms amnesty may be held in Jersey following a review of the island's gun laws.

It follows concerns raised about how many guns are kept by private owners. More than 11,000 firearms are legally owned by islanders.

The Home Affairs Department also said the type of guns that could be brought into Jersey was to be reviewed. All imported weapons need a licence.

Rules for gun clubs could also be tightened up.
