21 arrested by drink-drive police
A motorist is breathalysed
Police breathalysed 150 people in three weeks
Twenty-one people have been arrested by police in Jersey during the first three weeks of the island's Christmas anti drink and drive campaign.

About 5,600 vehicles have been stopped so far in the campaign and 150 people breathalysed during the operation.

Road checks started at the beginning of the month and run until New Year's Eve.

Police said the message was getting through to motorists not to drink and drive, but they added they were still concerned at the number of arrests.

The joint operation is being run between the States police and parish honorary officers.

States Police said that although the campaign went on until the end of the month there would still be road checks on the island's roads across 2007.
