Developer reduces homes in plan
People in Jersey are to be asked their opinions on the latest plans for a housing development after a scheme for 130 homes was rejected.

Developer Dandara's original plans were dismissed because of concerns about the number of homes for the land's size.

Now the company has come back with plans for 102 homes on the site at Bel Royal in St Lawrence.

But parish constable Geoffrey Fisher is to get the States to ask the planning minister to limit the number to 97.

Public meeting

The site at Bel Royal comprises seven fields, with an area of marsh land.

Constable Fisher is to ask questions in the States on Tuesday on the subject, together with local deputies.

He said he would almost certainly need to call another public meeting to discuss the plans.

Dandara said the scheme would provide much-needed houses on a site that had been approved in the Island Plan.
