Award honours home-grown eateries
Jersey grown tomatoes
About 80% of a restaurant's menu needs to come from Jersey
Two restaurants have won the top honours in a competition celebrating the best use of Jersey produce.

The Garden Restaurant at Jersey Pottery and the Olive Branch in Colomberie have picked up the Menu de Terroir awards.

The awards are an initiative of the Genuine Jersey Products Association, formed in 2001 to promote the diversity and quality of local produce.

Judges visited 28 restaurants and cafes over several months assessing quality of food and use of local produce.

About 80% of a restaurant's menu needs to come from Jersey to compete for the award.

The Garden Restaurant was judged overall winner, with the Olive Branch winning in the cafe and brasserie category.

The Longueville Manor Hotel and the Mary Rose restaurant were runners up.
