A cap belonging to a footballer who played in the Channel Island's Muratti tournament in the 1920s has been auctioned for £470.

Jersey captain Percy Kemp scored the team's only goal in a 1920 match against Guernsey.

Guernsey, Jersey and Alderney battle for the Muratti Vase trophy in the annual contest.

The cap was auctioned at a Bonham's sale at the Jersey Agricultural and Horticultural Showground on Monday.

Since its inception in 1905, the Muratti has only been interrupted during WWI and WWII.

Mr Kemp added a special 1921 date tag to his cap after scoring the winning penalty in a one-nil victory over Guernsey a year earlier.
