The quality of breeding stock in Jersey has been improved by importing sheep, according to a local farmer.
Diane Best, who is Jersey's largest sheep farmer and farms in St Martin, brought 11 ewes to the island from Norfolk last November.
Ms Best said it had been difficult to improve the stock's genetics because so few people keep sheep on the island.
But since importing different animals, she said her flock had increased and the quality of the meat had improved.
