Islanders to remember Holocaust

Jersey residents will remember 22 islanders who died in World War II concentration camps when the Holocaust memorial day takes place on Friday.

Jersey's Bailiff will lead the island's annual commemoration, joining areas around the world remembering victims of the holocaust and other atrocities.

The theme is 'One Person Can Make A Difference', celebrating the courage of those who helped the persecuted.

The commemoration will take place at the Occupation Tapestry at 1300 GMT.

A wreath-laying ceremony, involving the Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache, together with a minute's silence, will take place afterwards at the Lighthouse Memorial.
