Group steps up skatepark protest

A pressure group against plans for a skateboard park in Jersey's People's Park has started a petition.

The parish assembly wants to build a skatepark in the south west corner of the park and parishioners voted for the plans in March.

But the Friends of People's Park remain opposed to the plan and says the area is not suitable for skateboarders and BMX riders.

The group says it has got more than 100 signatures in a week.
