Hospital workers keep overpayment
Jersey's General Hospital
Policy and Resources has launched an inquiry into the error
More than 30 employees at Jersey's General Hospital have not yet returned an accidental overpayment of wages.

Earlier this month 500 staff were overpaid by 100 times after problems with a new computer system.

It meant instead of a total amount of £168,000 going into accounts, £16.8m was paid instead.

Employees were sent a written apology and asked to refund the money, but more than £800,000 remains outstanding.

This does not include money which has been paid in directly to the bank.

Bill Ogley, chief executive of Policy and Resources, has launched an inquiry into the incident.
